Let everything that has breath praise the Lord
(Psalm 150:1-6)

Psalm 150 is the fifth and final Hallelujah Psalm. It is the concluding doxology of the final book among the five main books of the Psalter.
This Psalm tells us where, why, how, and who should praise the Lord. "Praise the Lord!" appears four times, "Praise God!" one time, and "Praise Him!" nine times.

1. Where to praise Him
Everything that has breath must praise the Lord in the sanctuary of the earth and in His mighty heavens. Since every creature has been created by God, subsumed under His law, and sustained by His administration, it is perfectly natural that everything in heaven and earth is summoned to praise the Lord.

2. Why praise Him
Everything that has breath must praise the Lord for His acts of power and His surpassing greatness. The phrase, "acts of power," refers to the work that God has done in His creation as well as in His salvation. "His surpassing greatness" refers to the sum of God's attributes, in other words, His rule, holiness, omniscience, love, grace, goodness, righteousness, justice, truth, and wisdom.
Nothing can imitate God's acts of power either in heaven or on earth. Although many nations of the world gather together, they amount to nothing before God. Therefore, the only task that human beings must do is praise the Lord. He is endless, and His surpassing greatness is such that we have no way to express sufficient praise.

3. How to praise Him
Everything that has breath must praise Him with all things in their possession. When we have a trumpet, we must praise Him with the trumpet. We must praise the Lord with harp, lyre, tambourine, strings, flute, and anything else that we can utilize. Moreover, we must sing and praise the Lord with new and spiritual songs (Eph 6:19).

4. Who should praise the Lord
Everything (and therefore everyone) that has breath must praise the Lord. Nowadays, people everywhere blaspheme against God, denying Him and ignoring Him. We know that Jesus Christ was also rejected while he was on earth. However, whether they want to or not, one day every person will kneel and bow before Christ (Phil 2:10). Then, every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth as well as in the sea, will sing, "To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise, honor, glory, and power, forever and ever! Amen!" (Rev 5:13)

My beloved Christians!
The greatest chorus, the greatest song, and the greatest privilege that we have is praising the Lord, our God. While we have breath, I earnestly pray that you and I will become a people of God who will praise the Lord in the name of Jesus Christ.
