주 예수 그리스도는 분명히 다시 오십니다. 그 때가 언제인지 정확하게 알지 못하지만 예수님께서 재림하실 때에는 징조들을 미리 보여주실 것입니다. 그러므로 우리가 영적으로 깨어 있기만 하면 예수님이 다시 오실 때 당황하지 않고 기쁨으로 맞이하게 될 것입니다.

1. 예수님은 영광 중에 가시적으로 재림하실 것이다
“그 때에 인자의 징조가 하늘에서 보이겠고 그 때에 땅의 모든 족속들이 통곡하며 그들이 인자가 구름을 타고 능력과 큰 영광으로 오는 것을 보리라”(30절).
하나님의 말씀에 순종하며 사는 우리들에게 예수 그리스도의 재림의 날은 영광의 날이요, 기쁨의 날이며, 승리의 날입니다. 그러나 예수님을 믿지 않는 사람들에게는 재앙의 날이며, 심판의 날이고, 멸망의 날이 될 것입니다.
예수님은 영광 중에 구름을 타시고, 큰 능력과 영광 가운데 오실 것인데 세상의 모든 사람들이 이 모습을 다 보게 될 것입니다. 뿐만 아니라 예수님께서 재림하실 때에는 큰 나팔소리가 들릴 것인데 이 소리가 얼마나 큰지 땅 속에 있는 성도들까지도 다 들을 수 있습니다(31절, 살전 4:16). 이 소리와 함께 하나님께서 천사들을 보내실 터인데 천사들이 택하신 자들을 하늘 이 끝에서 저 끝까지 사방에서 다 모을 것입니다.

2. 예수님은 아무도 예상하지 못했던 시간에 돌발적으로 재림하실 것이다
말세에는 징조들이 있습니다. 그러나 정확하게 그 날, 그 시간이 언제인지는 아무도 알지 못합니다(36절). 예수님 재림의 날과 시간은 철저히 성부 하나님께서 알아서 하시는 일입니다. 다시 말해서 성자 하나님은 그 영역은 관여하지 않으신다는 말입니다.
많은 징조들로 보아 지금이 말세의 때인 것만은 우리 모두가 확실히 알고 있습니다. 그렇다고 그 시간이 우리가 생각하는 것처럼 금방 오는 것은 아닙니다. 그러다 보니 흐르는 시간 속에서 예수님 재림의 날을 망각하고 자기 중심적으로 세속적인 욕심에 끌려 살기 쉽습니다. 그래서 예수님은 우리에게 깨어서 오늘이 될지, 내일이 될지 모르는 예수님 재림의 날을 준비하라고 말씀 하십니다(44절).

사랑하는 성도 여러분,
“천지는 없어질지언정 내 말은 없어지지 아니하리라”(35절).
호머 던컨은 예수 그리스도의 재림에 대한 예언이 구약에 1845회, 신약에서 318회 언급되었다고 말하면서, 450번 반복적으로 예언을 하신 예수님의 초림이 이뤄졌는데 신구약 성경에서 2000번 이상 예언을 하고 있는 예수님의 재림이 어찌 이뤄지지 않겠느냐고 말합니다. 천지는 없어질지라도 하나님 말씀은 없어지지 아니할 터이니 예수님은 반드시 다시 오실 것입니다.
그러므로 우리 모두 서로서로 격려하고 도전해서 늘 깨어 준비하는 성도들이 되어 예수님 다시 오시는 날 “주 예수여 어서오시옵소서”라고 맞이하시는 복된 하나님의 백성들이 되시기를 주님의 이름으로 간절히 소원합니다.

You will see the son of man coming
(Matt. 24:29-44)

Jesus Christ will clearly come again. Although we do not know when he will come, he will show us the signs of his coming in advance. Therefore, if we are awake spiritually, when he comes, we will joyfully meet him without being embarrassed.

1. Jesus will visibly come again with great glory
"At that time the signs of the son of man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the son of man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory" (v. 30).
The day that Jesus comes again is the day of glory, joy, and victory for us who obey God's word and live our lives. However, it will be the day of disaster, judgment, and collapse to those who do not believe in Jesus.
Jesus will come on the clouds of sky in the midst of great power and glory and then all people in the world will see the appearance of him. Moreover, when Jesus will come again, they will hear a loud trumpet. But it will be so loud that even those who are buried underground can hear it (v.31, I Thess 4:16). And God will send His angels with a loud trumpet call and God will collect those who are chosen by angels from every nation.

2. Jesus will come again like a bombshell in an unexpected time
There will be the signs in the end of the world. But no one knows about the day, and hour when he comes (v. 36). The day and hour when Jesus will come again must be completely arranged and done by Holy God who knows all. In other words, it means that the son does not get involved in the realm of the Father God.
For the sake of many signs, all of us, can certainly know the time of the end of the world. Nevertheless, our prediction about the advent doesn’t influence Father God’s decision. That's why as the time passes, we will be apt to forget the advent's day of Jesus and to live our egocentric lives dragged by the worldly greed. Therefore, Jesus says to us that we, by being awake, must be ready for the day of the advent, whether it will be today or tomorrow (v. 44).

My beloved Christians,
"Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away" (v. 35).
Homer Duncan says that the prophesy about the Advent of Jesus is mentioned 1845 times in the Old Testament and 318 in the New Testament, and that because the prophesy of repeated 450 times made Christ's first coming come true, the prophesy of the second advent 2,000 times in the Bible must be fulfilled. Although heaven and earth will pass away because God's words never pass away, Jesus must certainly come again.
Therefore, by encouraging and challenging each other, becoming always awake and ready for the advent of Jesus, and receiving Him, 'O Jesus Christ, come!' I sincerely pray that all of you will be blessed Christians in the name of Jesus Christ.
