본문 : 시편 141:1-10

시편 135-150편, 즉 예배시를 연구하면서 예배 요소로 찬양, 기도, 죄의 고백, 성경봉독, 설교가 있음을 알게 됩니다. 그러나 최근 많은 교회들이 성경적 예배를 드리지 않고 있습니다. 이 예배시들은 하나님의 선하심, 거룩하심, 전지하심, 무소부재하심, 사랑과 자비를 찬양할 뿐 아니라 어떻게 우리가 찬양을 해야 하는지를 가르쳐 주고 있는데 본 시는 특히 기도에 대해 가르칩니다.

1. 기도에 관한 시
본 시에는 매 단어와 문장 속에 기도가 있습니다. 이 시는 저녁의 시, 또는 잠들기 전에 부른 시라고 합니다. 시편 141편은 전통적으로 저녁기도로 사용되었습니다.
그런데 오늘날 많은 성도들은 기도의 중요성을 심각하게 인정하지 않고 오히려 성가시게 여기고 있습니다. 이는 우리가 하나님의 생각을 잘 알지 못하기 때문에 무엇을 기도해야 할지 확실히 알지 못하며 성경을 알지 못하고, 하나님의 도움을 필요로 하지 않기 때문입니다. 그러나 다윗은 우리에게 매일 망할 자리에 빠져있으므로 능력 있게 기도해야 함을 가르칩니다.

2. 기원
본 시의 처음 두 절은 ‘내가 주를 불렀사오니 들으소서’라는 예배 시작시에 하는 기도입니다. 예배를 시작할 때 또는 기도를 시작할 때 하나님의 임재를 구하는 것이 무엇보다 중요합니다(기원). 로빈 토레이는 ‘우리가 하나님의 임재 앞에 왔다는 인식이 있기까지 공적이든 사적이든 한 문장도 중얼거려서는 안 된다’고 말합니다. 우리의 기도 모습이 어떠하든지 그것이 하나님께 받아지는 기도가 되기를 다윗은 소망합니다.

3. 순결을 위한 기도
다윗은 자기 입에 그리고 마음과 행동에 파수꾼을 세워달라고 하나님께 요청합니다. 이것은 죄로부터 지켜달라는 것과 말과 마음과 행실을 깨끗하고 바르게 해달라는 간청입니다.
여호와께서 성을 지키실 때 성이 안전하듯 우리 입을 지키실 때 우리의 모든 인격이 보전됩니다. 또한 악한 말이 마음에서부터 오는 것처럼 마음이 먼저 깨끗하면 우리의 말도 순결해 질 것입니다. 그러나 순결한 마음을 심어주시는 분은 오직 하나님뿐이십니다. 이것을 알기에 다윗은 말과 마음과 행실을 지켜주실 것을 하나님께 간구합니다.

4. 믿음으로
예배가 끝나고 축도를 받고 우리는 세상으로 돌아갑니다. 하나님께 기도한 우리는 세상에서도 하나님께 시선을 고정시켜야 합니다. 세상에는 위험이 있고, 악한 자의 올가미와 함정이 있습니다. 그러나 우리의 시선이 주께 고정되어 있는 한 위험과 시험의 길을 안전하게 걸을 수 있습니다.

Praying to keep out of the evil trap
(Psalm 141:1-10)

While studying Psalm 135-150, we find that these psalms have elements of worship including praise, prayer, confession of sin, reading the Bible, and preaching. However, there are many churches nowadays which do not conduct worship biblically. These psalms of worship not only display God's goodness, holiness, omniscience, and omnipresence, but also teach us how to praise the Lord and especially how to pray as well.

1. A psalm about prayer
Psalm 141 has a prayer in every word and sentence; it is called an evening psalm or a psalm to read before going to bed. Therefore, Psalm 141 has traditionally been used as an evening prayer.
In recent times, however, there have been some Christians who have not recognized the importance of prayer, thinking of it as something burdensome. First of all, because we do not know what God is thinking, we are not sure what we should pray. This is because we do not know the Bible, and do not really think that we need God's help. But David has shown us how we can practically pray every day, even when we are drawn into places where we know we will be ruined.

2. The invocation
The first two sentences, "O Lord I call to you; come quickly to me. Hear my voice when I call to you," are meant as a prayer, at the very beginning of worship. Therefore, when people begin to worship or pray, it is very important above all else to entreat God's presence (entreaty). Reuben A. Torrey said, "Whether it is official or personal, we must not murmur even a sentence until we recognize God's presence before us." David puts his hope in the fact that our prayers can be offered to God, no matter what our prayers look like.

3. A prayer for purity
David entreats God to set a guard over his mouth, heart, and conduct. This means that he is entreating God to keep him from sin and to make his word, mind, and conduct clean and upright. Just as the Lord's house is safe when the Lord is guarding it, our complete person is preserved when He keeps watch over our mouth. Just as an evil word originates from our heart, that word will be pure if our heart is first cleansed. However, God is the only one who is able to raise up a pure mind. David entreats God to keep guard over his word, heart, and deed, because he knows it is the only way.

4. With faith
At the end of a worship service, we are given a benediction to return to the world. We who have prayed to God must fix our eyes on God. In the world, there are many dangers, toils, and snares. Therefore, we are only able to walk on the path of danger and trial, as long as we fix our eyes on God.
